MommyPage Meet Angie from The Country Chic Cottage :

Tell us more about yourself, your site, and your family.

I am a full time working wife and mom to three great kids.? We live on a farm in rural Tennessee.? I blog about crafts, DIY, and our home on The Country Chic Cottage.? I add a little of what I like to call ?farmhouse flair? to most of my projects.? I love all things vintage, old, and worn.

What inspired you to start ?The Country Chic Cottage??

I actually started my blog in 2010 after a New Year?s resolution to spruce up my home.? The blog was a way to keep me accountable.? After over two years, I think it worked!

Your site has craft ideas for all holidays and seasons.? Do you have any favorite occasion/season when you like to make crafts??

Hands down it is Christmas.? In fact, I usually start Christmas crafting in August to have plenty to load up on my blog as the season gets closer.

You have a section on your site about making crafts on a budget.? How do you recommend people save money while making crafts?

My number one tip is to use what you have or shop thrift stores.? You can turn ?trash? into treasure!? I have a tutorial on my blog for making a monogram out of cardboard.? I actually used our old cereal boxes.? The craft cost me nothing to make and turned out great!

Do you have any favorite crafts that you recommend kids make during the summer?

Any and all!? I actually started something just this week.? I left a random box of craft supplies on the kitchen table with a note that said ?make something?.? They can let their creativity loose and I get happy kids!

What are your favorite ways to relax in the summer?

We actually have a small cabin on the Tennessee River.? We spend many weekends playing and swimming on the water!

What are your family?s plans for Labor Day??

Generally we spend Labor Day together doing pretty much nothing!? We find most places too crowded for us as folks head off on their day off.? So we plan a family day instead!

What are you most looking forward to this fall?

I love decorating for fall!? And HALLOWEEN!? I am already dreaming of the costumes I can make.? I don?t know what I will do when all of my kids grow up!
