Burning River Lacrosse, Renegade Brands (Sweat X detergent) and Dick?s Sporting Goods are teaming up to bring you our 3rd annual Breast Cancer Research Fund Raiser to benefit the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center ? Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute.
?The fund supports laboratory discoveries that are being translated into effective treatments and new drugs for breast cancer patients, as well as other research. This year?s event will be held on Sunday October 14, 2012 at Hawken School?s Walton Stadium, located at 12465 County Line Road, Chesterland. ?This year the event features top tier college lacrosse teams from Mercyhurst College (2011 National Champions), Seton Hill University, Lake Erie College, The College of Wooster, University of Mount Union, Ohio Wesleyan University, Otterbein University, and The Rochester Institute of Technology. The teams are paired up on the field to show their talents, have some fun and reach out and make a difference in the lives of others in the community.
The success of this event is made possible by local and national sponsorships, many parent and coaching volunteers and of course the main attraction ? the players. ?This year?s participant?s goal is to raise over $10,000 to benefit the Stefanie Spielman Fund. ?Last year?s event raised over $13,000 and had over 1,000 fans in attendance. ?
Tickets ($5 in advance/ $8 day of) will be available in advance at all Burning River events, by contacting Burning River at 216.373.5684 or on the day of the event. ?We will also be selling specially designed shorts (our BR/Chipotle shorts) and T-Shirts (new pink design) with all proceeds from the clothing sales being donated to Breast Cancer Research.
