CNA: How to Become a Nurse Assistant

Although requirements for CNA vary as per the states, a high school diploma or GED is sufficient in most states. If you fulfill the minimum requirement you can enroll in state approved training program which is usually of 6-12 weeks duration. After the completion of the program, certification exam must be passed before you can start working as a CNA in your respective State. Upon you?ve passed the certification exam your name will be added in the State Registry of Certified Nursing Assistants.

Most states require CNAs to complete continuing education units either on the job or in the classroom every two to four years. But, by this point, the main obstacles to certification have been removed, and the newly-minted CNA is ready to work.
