REMODELING Debuts New Cost vs. Value Widget

Washington, DC (PRWEB) February 5, 2010

REMODELING magazine has created a new Cost vs. Value widget, a quicker way for the industry to access its popular Cost vs. Value Report. The widget can be easily downloaded from remodelingmag.com and posted to Web sites, desktops, favorite start pages, blogs or social networks.

Industry professionals consistently tell us that the Cost vs. Value Report is a useful resource for many of the projects they do. By providing the widget, we are giving our readers quick easy access to information they want to see regularly, says Sal Alfano, Editorial Director, Hanley Woods Remodeling Group.

Offered free to the industry, the 2009-10 Cost vs. Value Report contains data that compares construction costs for popular remodeling projects against the share of those costs recovered at resale in more than 80 U.S. cities. In addition to city data, the report includes tables with national and regional averages, as well as complete project descriptions, 3-D images and QuickTime movies for all 33 projects surveyed.

The widget application helps the Cost vs. Value Report live beyond the pages of the magazine and Web site, greatly expanding its reach. And the widget is easy to download and post. Industry professionals, associations, and realtors can simply visit remodeling.com, fill out a simple request form and follow the instructions on how to embed the widget on any Web page or serve from an ad server. A direct link to the Cost vs. Value widget request form is: Cost vs. Value Widget Request Form

Widgets are a fast-growing area of innovation and we wanted to take advantage of this trend to give more people easier access to our popular content, like the REMODELING Cost vs. Value Report, says Rick Strachan, Executive Director, Hanley Woods Remodeling Group.

About REMODELINGs Cost vs. Value Report
Published for more than 20 years, REMODELINGs prestigious Cost vs. Value Report compares construction cost with resale value for common home improvement projects in 80 US markets. REMODELING magazine reaches 80,000 remodeling professionals who are the top influencers, specifiers and purchasers of products and services in the $279 billion remodeling industry. Construction costs are provided by Hometech Information Systems (http://www.hometechonline.com), a remodeling estimated software company based in Bethesda, MD. Resale value data are aggregated from estimates provided by members of the National Association of Realtors (http://www.realtor.org) through an email survey broadcast by Realtor magazine. Indianapolis-based Specpan (http://www.specpan.com), a market research company, hosts the web-based survey, collects and compiles the data, and provides pre-and post-survey consulting.
