The Taiwanese smartphone maker said it'll stay with Google's (NASDAQ:GOOG - News) Android software despite the latter's planned buy of rival Motorola Mobility. HTC CEO Peter Chou downplayed the possibility of developing its own operating system, in an interview with Dow Jones Newswires. "I think there's a lot we can do. ... It's not the operating systems, it's the ecosystem," he said. HTC's business has surged largely on strong sales of its Android-based smartphones. Google slid 2.8% to 490.92.
